National Library of Scotland – Edinburgh

Our Projects

WM Montgomery & Sons recently delivered a complex external works project for our trusted client, Richard Irvin, at the National Library of Scotland’s George V building in central Edinburgh.

Under the careful management of our Site Services Manager, Tom Ross, we removed the original patio and installed a new Cross Rail system that could be adjusted to suit the varying roof levels and slopes. This allowed us to create a safe, functional, and fully accessible space.

The project received fantastic feedback from the client and has since led to additional works, including an extension of the decked area and a new perimeter handrail to further enhance safety and usability. A tricky job in the heart of the city – delivered to a very high standard.
